The Islay gem, Bruichladdich Distillery, just announced a new Scotch whisky series … Luxury Redefined.

The first release in this series features two new single malt Scotch whiskies aged for Eighteen and Thirty years, respectively.

A statement from the team at Bruichladdich notes that this series shows a commitment to progress and transparency, and the use of raw ingredients that embody terroir to foster a sense of place in every sip.

The series will feature fully-compostable secondary packaging made from Colourform, a paper pulp material, molded to the shape of Bruichladdich’s proprietary bottle. This packaging reduces CO2 impact and stands out among a sea of beige and wood.

Let’s take a closer look at the series:

The Bruichladdich Eighteen

This release chronicles the distillery’s journey to reimagine whisky, with an ultra-high provenance single malt that is classically bourbon-forward with notes of green fruits and gooseberry. It has a suggested retail price of $179.99.

The Bruichladdich Thirty

This release features whisky from pre-renaissance casks, the time in which the Bruichladdich distillery was closed from 1994 to 2001, leaving perfectly good whisky to age undisturbed. The expression is an all-Islay maturation and features notes of dark chocolate and honey. It has a suggested price of $1,999.99.
