Dewar’s Scotch Whisky just introduced a prized expression, the Double Double 21 Year Old Mizunara Oak Cask Finish.
This whisky is finished in Japanese Mizunara oak casks, and brings together the distilling traditions of Japan and Scotland.
The whisky maker noted that unlike American oak, Mizunara oak requires more than 200 years to reach maturity and does not grow straight, which poses a challenge in making whisky casks.
This whisky was bottled at 46% ABV, and features hints of sandalwood and coconut on the palate. It finishes with a sweet, clean taste of creamy vanilla.
Stephanie Macleod, Dewar’s master blender, said, “The journey of creating this expression has been an exploration of flavors and craftsmanship. This latest iteration in the Double Double Series is a testament to our commitment to delivering unparalleled experiences to our connoisseurs.”
Dewar’s Double Double 21 Year Old Mizunara has a suggested price of $149.99 per 750ml bottle, and you can find it at spirits retailers nationwide and online.
