Recently, Brooklyn’s Fort Hamilton Distillery added a bourbon to their lineup that’s made entirely from New York grain.

Part of its single barrel range, Fort Hamilton’s classic Single Barrel Bourbon is made with 100% New York grain that’s sourced from the state’s Hudson Valley. And it’s a Kosher-certified, craft spirit.

The single barrel’s mash bill is 85% corn, 10% rye and 5% malted barley, which the whiskey maker notes is the highest corn content of any of the Fort Hamilton whiskey range to date.

The new bourbon offering clocks in at 47.5% ABV, or 95 proof. It’s aged four and a half years in 53-gallon, Char 3 American oak and has a suggested retail price of $54.99 a bottle.

Alex Clark, co-founder of Fort Hamilton, said, “This is a classic bourbon for bourbon lovers with a nod to our home of New York. As our Fort Hamilton Single Barrel NY Rye comes of age, with batch 14 released this year at five years old, it was time to extend our hospitality into bourbon with a Single Barrel Bourbon made from all New York grain. Fort Hamilton Single Barrel Bourbon is a spirit born of that same independent, revolutionary spirit and is built for the bourbon enthusiast and is true to our New York roots.”

The husband-and-wife team of Alex Clark and Amy Grindeland built the brand from the ground up, using Alex’s background in bartending and Amy’s in hospitality. Today, she oversees the Fort Hamilton Distillery Bar & Tasting Room in New York City.
