TX Whiskey, known for their TX Blended Whiskey and TX Straight Bourbon, just launched TX Blend of Straight Whiskeys Finished in Apricot Brandy and Sherry Casks.

This is the eighth overall expression of the TX Experimental Series which includes the TX Experimental Rye, TX High Rye Texas Straight Bourbon, TX Blended Straight Bourbon, TX Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Rum & Cognac Barrels, TX Straight Rye Whiskey Bottled-in-Bond, TX Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Cabernet Barrels. And most recently, the TX Straight Bourbon Whiskey Double Oak.

“We took some of our best whiskeys from over the years and decided to utilize them for a new experimental launch,” said TX Head Blender Craig Blair. “The brandy and sherry casks in which the straight whiskeys were finished really bring out the fruity taste that you’ll experience with each sip. The maturing and blending processes are delicate and the final product truly shows our Texas heart, which we aim to bring to every expression.”

He explained that this 88.4-proof whiskey showcases the blending of TX’s best expressions over the years with Apricot Brandy and Sherry Casks. His notes show that the blend creates an unique flavor profile, highlighting the taste of apricot and bright fruits while picking up the flavors of brandy and sherry from the casks. Notes of rye spice, caramel candy and citrus feature on the nose, while apricot jam and holiday spice is on the palate. It finishes long and smooth complimented by bright fruit flavors.

In all, TX made 1,300 bottles of the TX Blend of Straight Whiskeys Finished in Apricot Brandy and Sherry Casks, and they are available for $39.99 at Whiskey Ranch in Fort Worth, Texas.  The limited release will only be available in 375ml bottles and limited to eight bottles per customer in a 30-day period.
