Milam & Greene Whiskey is set to unveil the latest addition to its 2024 Wildlife Collection: the Cardinal Single Barrel Bourbon.
This distinctive release, part of a limited edition series, embodies the essence of Texas Hill Country’s natural environment and its influence on whiskey flavor.
Named after the striking cardinal bird, commonly seen throughout eastern Texas, this bourbon reflects the unique characteristics of its surroundings at the Milam & Greene distillery in Blanco, Texas. Notably, each bottle in the Wildlife Collection highlights native Texan wildlife, advocating for conservation efforts led by Texas Parks and Wildlife.
The Cardinal Single Barrel Bourbon stands out with its rich mahogany color, a result of aging in non-temperature controlled rickhouses that allow Texas’s extreme climate to impart a distinct flavor profile. This year’s release, drawn from cask #506, yields just 130 bottles of cask-strength bourbon at 129.8 proof (64.9% ABV). Distilled in Tennessee and aged for more than eight years, including additional maturation in Texas, each bottle promises a unique tasting experience.
It’s set to release on June 26th, exclusively through Milam & Greene’s website and distillery tasting room. Each bottle has a suggested price of $149.99. A portion of the proceeds will support the Texas Parks & Wildlife Foundation.
