As the sun sets over the Texas Hill Country, Garrison Brothers Distillery is set to usher in a month-long celebration that marries tradition with philanthropy.
This month, affectionately known as Bourbon Heritage Month, the distillery is reigniting its Hye Fashioned Takeover. This nationwide initiative, a tribute to America’s classic cocktail, the Old Fashioned, aims to captivate bourbon enthusiasts from coast to coast while raising funds for a worthy cause.
In a spirited encore of its debut last year, Hye Fashioned Takeover 2024 invites hundreds of restaurants and bars to craft their own unique takes on the Old Fashioned, all starring Garrison Brothers’ renowned bourbon. From now until Sept. 30th, patrons across the country will have the opportunity to savor these bespoke creations and contribute to a greater cause.
Notable participants include culinary gems such as Bern’s Steak House in Tampa and Untitled Supper Club in Chicago, alongside national favorites like Bob’s Steak and Chop House and YardBird Table & Bar. The event spans a diverse array of locations, with venues in Arizona, California, Colorado, DC, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. An up-to-date list of participating venues is available at www.hyefashioned.com.
But the Hye Fashioned Takeover is more than just a celebration of bourbon. This initiative supports Boot Campaign, a non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of veterans and military families. Bourbon aficionados can contribute by posting a snapshot of their Garrison Brothers Old Fashioned on Instagram Stories, tagging both Garrison Brothers Distillery and Boot Campaign, and using the hashtag #hyefashioned. For each tagged post, Garrison Brothers will donate $5 to Boot Campaign, with last year’s effort raising more than $16,500.
Participants can also enter to win a coveted prize package: a visit to the Garrison Brothers Distillery in Austin, complete with a two-night hotel stay and tickets to a Moody Center concert. The official rules and entry details can be found on hyefashioned.com. Additionally, a Hye Fashioned Takeover at Home kit, featuring Garrison Brothers Old Fashioned Sugar Cubes and a 750 ML bottle of Small Batch Bourbon, is available for $84.99. Every kit sold will also see $5 donated to Boot Campaign.
“We’re thrilled to bring Hye Fashioned Takeover back,” said Ciara Knee, director of trade marketing at Garrison Brothers Distillery. “It’s our favorite way to honor one of our most beloved cocktails while giving back to those who’ve served our country. We can’t wait to see the Old Fashioneds our community creates and the support we generate for the Boot Campaign.”
This year, Imbibe joins as the national media partner, celebrating the world of drinks as a distinctive culinary art. For more details on participating venues and to join the celebration, check out www.hyefashioned.com.
