Heaven’s Door Spirits, the acclaimed collection of American whiskeys from legendary musician Bob Dylan, just launched its highly anticipated Bootleg Series Volume VI.
This limited-edition release is a rare masterpiece, blending 12-, 13-, and 14-year-old wheated bourbons finished in unique Limousin cigar barrels. Fewer than 5,000 bottles will be available worldwide, making this a must-have for collectors and whiskey connoisseurs alike.
The finishing process for Bootleg Volume VI is where the magic happens. Master Blender Alex Moore experimented with more than a dozen different barrel types before settling on the cigar barrel.
The elongated shape of the Limousin oak barrel allows for more surface contact between the whiskey and the wood, which amplifies the flavor profile. The natural air-drying process of the oak also enhances the tannins and sugars in the wood, imparting a complex range of flavors. The result is a straight bourbon with pronounced notes of spice, dried fruit, and toasted oak, perfectly balancing the smooth, sweeter tones of the wheated bourbon.
As with all Heaven’s Door releases, art is at the heart of this bottle. The Bootleg Volume VI comes in a striking ceramic bottle adorned with Bob Dylan’s painting Favela Villa Candido, from his 2015 Brazil Series. The artwork captures the vibrant spirit of Brazil’s favelas, adding an extra layer of artistry to this exquisite whiskey.
Priced at $499.99, Bootleg Volume VI is available through select retailers and the official Heaven’s Door website. This new release stands as a testament to Bob Dylan’s unwavering dedication to craftsmanship and artistry, solidifying his legacy in both the music and whiskey worlds.
