There’s bourbon. There’s tradition. And then there’s the Mint Julep … a cocktail as iconic to the Kentucky Derby as the roses themselves. This year, Woodford Reserve has taken Derby elegance to new heights with their 2025 $5,000 Mint Julep Cup Program, blending luxury, legacy, and a heartfelt cause.
In celebration of the 151st Run for the Roses, Woodford Reserve is paying tribute to the fierce fillies who defied the odds: Regret (1915), Genuine Risk (1980), and Winning Colors (1988). With only 151 cups available … 51 in polished pewter ($1,000) and 100 lavishly plated in 24k gold over sterling silver ($5,000) … these collectible cups are as unforgettable as the fillies they honor.
Designed by Josh Merideth of Makers Agency and crafted by Louisville’s From the Vault, the cups gleam with Derby spirit, complete with lab-grown white and pink sapphires and the signature sterling silver Derby trophy emblem.
But beyond the sparkle lies something even more special: heart. Net proceeds benefit Our Mims Retirement Haven, a Kentucky sanctuary dedicated to giving retired fillies and broodmares the peaceful life they deserve. Founded by Jeanne Mirabito and now led by Pete Mirabito, the haven is named for the champion filly Our Mims and reflects the soul of the sport.
And what’s a julep without the perfect pour? This year’s signature cocktail … The Filly Mint Julep … features Woodford Reserve Bourbon and a fragrant trio of chocolate mint, peppermint, and spearmint, a nod to the Derby’s three triumphant ladies.
Cups must be picked up at Churchill Downs during Oaks or Derby day.
