Just in time for the Fourth of July, there’s a new tequila making waves … and this one comes with a story as bold as its flavor. Meet Cape Horn Tequila, the award-winning spirit created by Navy Veteran Taylor Grieger, where every pour carries a deeper purpose.

Taylor’s path to founding Cape Horn wasn’t your typical business plan scribbled on a cocktail napkin. His story starts in some of the most unforgiving waters on earth … the infamous Cape Horn, at the tip of South America.

After serving as a Navy rescue swimmer, Taylor set sail around Cape Horn, not for fame, but to shed light on something most people never see: the invisible battles veterans and first responders face with PTSD. That harrowing journey became the subject of the acclaimed documentary Hell or High Seas.

But Taylor didn’t stop there. That voyage sparked Skeleton Crew Adventures, a non-profit offering free adventure therapy to veterans and first responders. Think guided sailing expeditions, peer mentoring, and a community built around healing and connection … all at no cost to those who’ve served.

Cape Horn Tequila was born as a way to fuel that mission, literally and figuratively. With every bottle sold, funds go directly to support Skeleton Crew’s work and the broader fight to prevent veteran suicide. “What started as one impossible sail has grown into a movement,” says Taylor. “It’s about saving lives, building community, and reminding veterans they’re not alone.”

The tequila itself? As intentional as the mission behind it. Crafted from 100% Blue Weber Agave with zero additives, Cape Horn Tequila is small-batch distilled and already making a name for itself, recently medaling at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The lineup includes:

  • Blanco — Bright, citrusy, with a peppery, agave warmth.
  • Reposado — Bone-dry, roasted agave, hints of bitters and stone.
  • Añejo — Apple pie sweetness, vanilla, and a smooth, spiced finish.

Once only available online and in Texas, thanks to a partnership with AIKO Brands, Cape Horn Tequila is now pouring into 24 states, and into the glasses of folks who believe good spirits can do good in the world.

As they say, sip with purpose. Sail toward change.
