Coffee lovers and bourbon fans, this one has your name all over it.
This spring, Georgia favorites Jittery Joe’s Coffee and ASW Distillery are teaming up once again for the return of their much-loved Fiddler Bourbon Barrel-Aged Coffee, and honestly, it sounds like the kind of collaboration that makes mornings a whole lot more interesting.
The limited-edition release brings together Jittery Joe’s expertly roasted coffee with ASW’s award-winning Fiddler bourbon program for a cup that is rich, aromatic, and just a little bit indulgent. It’s the kind of coffee that feels equally at home with a quiet morning on the porch or as the centerpiece of your next brunch spread.
The magic starts with green coffee beans sourced from Nicaragua’s Selva Negra. Before roasting, the beans spend time resting in freshly emptied Fiddler bourbon barrels, soaking up all those gorgeous warm notes of toffee, clove, oak, and just a whisper of whiskey-inspired sweetness. Once roasted in Athens, the result is a smooth, layered coffee with a lingering finish that feels more like an experience than just your average cup.
In other words, this is not your grab-and-go office coffee.
What makes this collab especially fun is how naturally these two brands fit together. Jittery Joe’s has long been part of Georgia’s creative culture, with roots in Athens’ music and arts scene, while Atlanta-based ASW has built a reputation for craft bourbon that embraces experimentation and small-batch precision. Together, they have created something that feels distinctly Southern, deeply local, and undeniably delicious.
ASW co-founder Jim Chasteen summed it up perfectly, saying the partnership is built on “shared values, craft curiosity, and a deep respect for process.” And you can taste that thoughtfulness in every sip.
To celebrate the release, the brands are throwing what might be one of the most tempting events of the season: a one-night-only Breakfast for Dinner Happy Hour at Last Resort Grill in Athens on April 7th from 5 to 7 p.m.
Yes, breakfast for dinner. And yes, bourbon cocktails.
The event will feature brunch favorites, coffee tastings, and ASW cocktails, with the Last Resort team digging into their brunch archives for the occasion. Tickets are $45, which includes two cocktails, breakfast-inspired bites, and coffee tastings. If you are already planning to bring some home, there is also a $20 add-on for a custom can of the barrel-aged coffee.
For those who cannot make the event, the coffee itself will be available in limited quantities for $25 per custom can, sold as whole bean while supplies last.
For readers of Sips&Sites&Bites, this one checks all the boxes: local flavor, craftsmanship, a little bit of bourbon intrigue, and a seriously fun story behind the cup.
Let’s be honest … coffee aged in bourbon barrels may be the best reason yet to look forward to morning.
